H3C maintained its position as the No.1 vendor in China’s Ethernet switch market with a market share of 34.5%, and remained unrivaled as the largest vendor in the enterprise network switch market and campus switch market during the first quarter of 2023, with market shares reaching 35.7% and 37.9%, respectively, leading China’s network market with absolute dominance, according to IDC PRC Quarterly Ethernet Switch Tracker, 2023Q1, recently released by global market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC).
Adhering to its core concept of Application-Driven Networking (AD-NET), H3C has gained profound insights into emerging trends in the development of connectivity technologies. By making future-oriented overall plans for the next-generation networking technologies, H3C has achieved continuous innovations in its switch products to cater to various application scenarios, including campuses, data centers, and industries. The latest No.1 ranking in the above-mentioned three markets has fully demonstrated the high recognition of H3C’s products and technological strength.
Helping unleash the greatest possible computing power in data centers
As the application of AI-generated content (AIGC) continues to gain momentum, market demand for computing power is being unleashed at a faster pace. Data centers are the pivot of intelligent computing power and the technological forefront of application innovations. Interactions between graphics processing units (GPUs) in terms of parameters and data need to be supported and underpinned by network equipment with high performance and low latency. In an effort to help customers better unleash the potential of computing power in data centers, H3C recently rolled out a next-generation data center switch series, the S9827 series. As the world’s first 800G switch built on CPO technology, the new series boasts a single-chip bandwidth of 51.2T, 64 800G ports, and an increase of eight times the throughput compared to 400G products.
Besides, the switch series has integrated advanced technologies including liquid cooling and intelligent lossless network, therefore realizing ultrahigh bandwidth, low latency, and green and energy-efficient performance of networks for intelligent computing. In addition to the S9827 series, H3C, relying on an AI-native technological foundation with embedded AI, has also launched a next-generation AI core switch for intelligent computing, the S12500G-EF series. The series allows data transmission speeds of up to 400G, and its capacity can be smoothly upgraded to 800G. By giving full play to H3C’s original lossless algorithms supported by AI, the switch series can bring a new network experience characterized by ultrahigh bandwidth and lossless network to users. The series also boasts great performance in reducing energy consumption. With the help of AI, it can realize dynamic noise cancellation and intelligent control of energy consumption, effectively facilitating the construction of new-type green data centers by reducing energy consumption by about 40% and cutting operating costs by 61%.
Facilitating ultrafast evolution of campus networks
The demand for cloud-based ultrahigh bandwidth is growing not only in data centers, but also scenarios of campuses. In an effort to meet the needs of the ever-expanding business and increasingly diverse application scenarios of smart campuses, H3C debuted its all-optical network solution 3.0. With upgraded capabilities to adapt to new scenarios, serve business, and support unified operations and maintenance (O&M), is able to provide custom-made optical networks for different campuses. Meanwhile, H3C has also launched building block-style all-optical switches, enabling easy expansion for dual or triple network connectivity, to expand their internal, external, and device networks as needed.
In particular, the combination of H3C S7500X, a family of high-end multiservice routing switches, and the all-optical network solution 3.0 can help campus users save investment by enabling them to accommodate optical line termination(OLT) card, Ethernet switch, security card, and wireless access controller (AC)card in one enclosure, and to realize unified deployment of passive optical network (PON),all-optical Ethernet and traditional Ethernet.
Realizing transboundary convergence of OICT in industry
Industrial switches serve as the “neural” network that supports the operation of industrial systems. Grasping that users in the industrial sector often face challenges caused by the wide range of equipment categories and diverse communication protocols in this sector, H3C rolled out a new series of industrial switches in April this year to cater to the unique needs of industrial users. By comprehensively converging the technologies of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and software-defined networking(SDN) and integrating for the first-time industrial communication protocol stacks in its self-developed network operating system Comware, H3C became the first to break the barriers blocking information technology (IT), communication technology (CT), and operational technology (OT). Boasting features including ultrahigh bandwidth, flexible networking, intelligent O&M, and fast launch of new services, H3C’s new series of industrial switches can be used in industrial scenarios including mines, transportation facilities, and power plants. While ensuring high-speed data transmission in industrial networks, the new switches can also guarantee the stability and reliability of the data transmission, supporting industrial connectivity by making networks more efficient and more open.
H3C has also launched an Enhanced Ethernet Card, which can support up to 200G ring network bandwidth and sub-millisecond switching performance. It can meet the needs of various types of smart campuses and the strictest requirements of networks in such fields as industrial manufacturing and rail transportation. Besides, the card is a plug and play device that can be deployed and used easily. It can help users effectively enhance the functions of ring Ethernet network, thus saving labor and software costs. The AI era is roaring in, bringing unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the construction of network infrastructure.
In the face of changes and new circumstances, H3C is geared up to cope with challenges of any form proactively. Upholding the idea of “Dedication, For A Smarter Future”, H3C will continue to lead the way in the iteration and application of network technologies and provide smart networks featuring ultra-simple delivery, intelligent O&M, and premium user experience for customers in various industries.
