Introduction of to disaster recovery
UIS backup solution
UIS hyper-converged architecture features built-in VM backup, in support of intra-cluster backup and inter-cluster backup. The data in the local storage, shared file system, external storage and ftp server can be backed up to the backup library/backup directory. The data of a complete machine and a single disk can be backed up periodically and manually in agent-free mode.
The architecture can be seamlessly integrated with AISHU, RunStor and other backup software. Under uniform management, the backup capability can be more professional. The RPO and RTO can be reduced to hours.
For small-scale backup (VM with less than 1 TB of data, and number of VMs to be backed up less than 3), the built-in backup function of the UIS can be directly used without extra charge. For a single cluster, intra-cluster backup is used. For multiple clusters, inter-cluster backup can be used to protect backup files based on different fault domains.
If you have requirements on backup speed and advanced features, such as data compression, deduplication, and remote backup, the UIS integrated backup system or the UIS cloud backup appliance can be selected.
UIS disaster recovery solution
The protected VM data is replicated at the storage layer through the distributed storage and replication technology, to realize disaster recovery RPO and RTO in minutes. The solution supports the dual operation mode in which active/standby devices can be interchanged to protect investment.
The VM configuration changes of the protected site are synchronized to the disaster recovery site in time. Regular drills are conducted to ensure long-term availability of the disaster recovery system.
The drills do not affect service operation and ensure predictable recovery targets can be met. After the protected site is restored, the service is restored to the protected site through one-click reverse recovery.
Storage configuration: One-stop configuration for disaster recovery tasks. The computing, storage and network resources of the protected site and the disaster recovery site are mapped directly. It eliminates the need to switch between management stations to build a disaster recovery system.
UIS active-active solution
The distributed storage cluster is deployed across data centers to provide active-active storage, and to fulfill the result of RPO=0. With the help of the data copy mechanism, data security is ensured according to the fault domain planned by the data center.
The computing virtualization cluster is expanded across data centers. In combination with the active-active storage, it achieves cross center VM HA disaster recovery, with minute-level RTO.
The UIS-Mgr management platform is deployed in two data centers as primary/backup to achieve high availability.
The self-developed arbitration mechanism is introduced to handle the complex split brain in the central-level disaster recovery.
The dual-center 4-node UIS is configured without the need for advanced features such as storage replication and virtual disaster recovery, which meets the central-level disaster recovery requirements with low investment.
If the distance between two centers in the same city does not exceed 5 km, a 10-gigabit optical fiber link is required to build an inter-center network. The network is stable without jitter, with a latency of less than 1ms.
Typical application: Disaster recovery solution for three centers in two places
