H3C Debuts AI-Native New Wi-Fi 7 APs Globally

H3C launched globally its enterprise-class artificial intelligence (AI)-native new Wi-Fi 7 access points (APs) WA7638 and WA7338 on April 7. The company, after debuting Wi-Fi 6 AP in August 2017, is taking the industrial lead again in Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) solutions and ushering WLAN into the era of Wi-Fi 7.

The new H3C Wi-Fi 7 APs empowered by AI-native technologies are expected to perfectly meet the stringent requirements of emerging scenario-based applications, namely high rate, low latency, and high density, expand the boundaries of business, and open up more possibilities for the development of innovative applications in the future.

Innovative Technologies Enable Wi-Fi 7 to Achieve Major Breakthroughs in Network Performance

The current Wi-Fi 6 has already realized a great increase in data transfer and network transmission speed, yet it still couldn’t meet the requirement of emerging applications, such as applications of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and online games, for network latency. Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), however, is able to bring to users complete different network experience from that they can get with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). The introduction of new technologies, including those concerning high rate, low latency, and collaboration among multiple APs, has endowed Wi-Fi 7 with innate capabilities to suit the needs of digital transformation of enterprises and emerging applications.

High Rate: Wi-Fi 7 operates in three frequency bands, i.e. 2.4 GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz, with the maximum bandwidth reaching 320 MHz. It has introduced 4096 QAM and can support 16*16 multi-user multi-input multi-output (MU-MIMO). The maximum negotiation rate of Wi-Fi 7 is as high as 46.08 Gbps.

Low Latency: Wi-Fi 7 can keep network latency within 5 milliseconds (ms), which represents a 100-percent drop compared with the latency of 10 to 20 ms with Wi-Fi 6.

Collaboration Among Multiple APs: Wi-Fi 7 has realized coordination among and joint transmission of multiple APs, thus avoiding interference and collision among base station subsystems (BSS) and significantly improving the utilization rate of radio resources.

Integration of Wi-Fi 7 and AI-Native Architecture Brings Brand New Smart, Fast Network Experience to Users

Innate AI-Native Capabilities: H3C’s Wi-Fi 7 APs can realize AI-based radio frequency (RF) management, connection of terminal to network, service assurance, and healing of network through the convergence of cloud, networking and edge and H3C’s iRadio, iStation, iHeal, and iEdge technologies.

Ultra-fast Connected Experience: H3C’s Wi-Fi 7 APs support tri-band transmission with up to 12 and 10 simultaneous data streams, with the maximum transmission rate reaching 18.44 Gbps. In particular, the maximum transmission rate for a single terminal can reach 11.53 Gbps, 2.4 times higher than that with Wi-Fi 6. With the Wi-Fi 7 APs, a 72 GB 8K video can be downloaded in less than a minute at a data rate of 80 Mb/s, which was unimaginable in the past.

Problems for High-Density Access Readily Solved: The new Wi-Fi 7 APs can support over 400 concurrent users and double the number of concurrent users handled by a single AP, thus solving the problem of high-density Wi-Fi deployment.

Delay-Sensitive Services to Enjoy Stable Performance: Thanks to technologies involving Multi-Link Operation (MLO), Multiple Resource Unit (MRU), and collaboration among multiple APs, H3C’s Wi-Fi 7 APs have reduced network latency to less than 5 ms and are able to guarantee users ultra-fast and smooth wireless network experience even in application scenarios that require high bandwidth and low network latency, such as 8K video, applications of VR and AR, and online games.
