H3C’s CR19000 core router series have been shortlisted for the construction of metropolitan area network (MAN) and adopted in core egress nodes of MAN provincial backbone networks by the Shanghai Branch of China Mobile. While carrying service traffic of home broadband, 5G, Internet Data Center (IDC), and government and enterprise private lines of the MAN, H3C’s products have helped create a new benchmark for the construction of carriers’ IP networks.
During its MAN construction, China Mobile’s Shanghai Branch has been in urgent need of more stable and reliable cluster routers with higher performance as its old equipment could no longer meet business needs and support rocketing data traffic in the 5G era.
H3C’s CR19000 cluster router series have won favor with China Mobile’s Shanghai Branch because of its many advantages, including the capacity for supporting stand-alone, back-to-back as well as 3+12 configuration, meeting the needs of various scenarios for powerful performance, suiting future network with its software-defined networking (SDN) architecture, and helping reducing overall costs, as well as their green and energy-efficient design.
Core router products are considered a technological commanding height in the IP field as well as the embodiment of vendors’ R&D strength. During the MAN construction project of China Mobile’s Shanghai Branch, H3C’s products have been deployed in various links of the carrier’s IP networks, including access, convergence and core nodes.
Besides core router products, H3C’s many other products have also been widely employed in the construction of China Telecom’s 5G Smart Transport Network (STN) carrier network and China Unicom’s smart MAN. In addition, H3C has won many bids in carriers’ centralized procurement of IP network products this year, which indicates its steady market position as a professional supplier of equipment for carriers’ IP networks.
Thanks to an end-to-end service delivery team specially established for carriers, H3C has managed to advance various tasks in the MAN construction project of China Mobile’s Shanghai Branch, from the installation to the testing and verification of CR19000 routers, with zero malfunction. The achievement is particularly notable as the egress nodes of the MAN provincial backbone networks of China Mobile’s Shanghai Branch also serve as the IDC convergence core, thus making the replacement of old routers more technically demanding and the cutover riskier.
As carriers push their network toward IP-based and cloudization, H3C has followed closely the technological development trend and actively prepared itself for carriers’ needs. By rolling out cloudization-oriented network reconstruction, cloud network integration and other solutions, the company aims to help carriers reduce operating costs, improve operation and maintenance efficiency, and launch new services faster.
More importantly, based on its rich experience and keen insights into the need for transformation in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, H3C helps carriers to achieve business transformation for better development in the government and enterprise market, promote in-depth integration of 5G and the ICT industry, and accelerate digital transformation as the development of 5G ToB service moves to a new depth and breadth.
