Light Up the Future with Digitalization: H3C Guards Growth and Education of Rural Students in Sichuan Province with Love and Technology

Representatives of H3C, including Frank Du, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of H3C, and Guan Zhiqiang, Vice President of H3C, together with H3C’s partners, recently paid a visit to Qifo Township Central Primary School in Qingchuan county, southwest China’s Sichuan province. They brought teaching and learning equipment and materials to the school, and spent a memorable day with the students.

Facilitating Children’s Learning and Growth with Scientific and Technological Achievements

Qifo Township Central Primary School has been a recipient of H3C’s long-term aid since the devastating Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, when Qingchuan county was one of the most severely affected areas. To ensure children of the locality have access to high-quality education, H3C made targeted donations to the school and provided assistance for its reconstruction. Besides, H3C has continuously supported the school in its subsequent construction and operation via the company’s education fund, endeavoring to optimize the environment and improve the teaching quality of the school through public benefit activities featuring direct participation and long-term communication.

Thanks to the help and support from H3C and other forces from all walks of life, the education system of Qingchuan county has not only enjoyed fast reconstruction, but optimized development, said Liang Zhilin, director of the education bureau of Qingchuan county, at a donation ceremony held at the school to mark the charitable act of H3C.

H3C will, as always, actively fulfill its corporate social responsibilities (CSR), unswervingly offering support for Qifo Township Central Primary School, accompany and help teachers and students of the school on their road to learning and growth, and try to make digital innovations more thoughtful and powerful, Du said at the ceremony.

A Letter to Lovely People in H3C

Dear uncles and aunts in H3C,

I’m a student from Qifo Township Central Primary School of Qingchuan county. Having been nourished by your long-term aid, I’m now writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, and at the same time, to thank you for your efforts in engaging in public benefit activities all along on behalf of every student of our school. Your generous assistance and friendly relations with our school have brought nutrients and freedom to our young mind and ensured that each of us here can grow up healthily and happily.

Natural disaster knows no mercy, but we humans have love. Dear uncles and aunts in H3C, we remember vividly that after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, when we were helpless against the disaster, it was you who reached out to us and came all the way to help us. It was you who donated money to build our spacious dormitories so that we would not have to live in prefabricated houses and tents any more. It was you who established an education fund for us so that we can have the opportunity to study harder. It was you who set up a reading room for our school so that we can have a good swim in the ocean of knowledge whenever we want. Dear uncles and aunts, although we are not related by blood and we live so far from each other, you have given so much to us without taking anything in return. What great love and precious kindness you have shown to us! So far as I can remember, you have personally come to our school to see us, ordinary elementary school students from mountainous villages, for many times. You ate the same food with us, sat on the same bench with us, had heart-to-heart talks with us, and played games with us. I can recall clearly the time we had a party on the school playground, when Uncle Guan from your company led a team in a rope skipping match against us. At first we thought Uncle Guan must be a serious person, since he is the vice president of H3C. However, as it turned out, he is just as approachable and agreeable as an elder brother of ours. His silvery laughter and warm words gradually loosened our tongue and relaxed our mind. We played and laughed with you so happily and freely. The weather was hot that day. Sweat soaked your clothes, and our faces were also beaded with sweat. But we felt comfortable and happy as if we just had ice cream. Later that night, Uncle He and Aunt Nie formed a team with us to enjoy three-legged race. Though they were so fast that I couldn’t follow their pace, I got to experience the feeling of “flying” with their help. Such little things will remain in our mind forever and become our sweet memories.

Dear uncles and aunts, I have taken part in various activities organized by your company for many times in recent years, which have given me, a rural kid, the opportunity to visit big city and experience different life. These activities have broadened my horizon, increased my knowledge, and helped me learn so many things that I couldn’t learn in my hometown. This time, I heard you are going to build “cloud classroom” for us. I don’t know much about “cloud classroom”. It seems so mysterious to me. I have once naively asked my teacher is the “cloud” of the “cloud classroom” the same cloud as that in the sky, and my teacher denied my conjecture. “‘Cloud classroom’ involves the use of Internet technologies and high-tech means. Your uncles and aunts from H3C are exactly the people who work on those technologies related to the ‘cloud’,” said my teacher. “Are they immortals?” I asked with curiosity. My teacher laughed and replied, “There are no immortals. They are a group of people who have a loving heart and wisdom and are able to use science and technology to create a better life for us.” Although I don’t completely understand the words of my teacher, those words sowed a seed in my heart: I want to be a person working on “cloud” just like the uncles and aunts in H3C.

Dear uncles and aunts in H3C, I want to thank you again for your selfless aid to our school. It is you who have made me more determined to work for my future goal and made our life better. We will study hard and become useful for our society, so that we can repay the society and others just like you have done. I wish the flower of your love lasts forever, as in this way, more of our junior fellow students will be able to enjoy the sunshine of your love. May the friendship tree between H3C and Qifo Township Central Primary School be evergreen! I believe love steers life to happiness and brings good changes to the world, and where there is love, there is infinite hope.
