H3C Launches Simplified and Adaptive iMC3, New Generation of Network Management Platform

On July 5, the event of "Shaping the Digital Future — 100 Cities Ltinerant Exhibition of H3C Digital Navigation 2018" was officially held in Xi'an. During the event, H3C Group (H3C) under Tsinghua Unigroup officially launched iMC³, a brand-new smart network management platform that is innovated in its concept, architecture, technologies, functions and all other aspects based on the advantages inherited from its predecessor, so as to enable an ordered network system in the IoE era.

With the accelerated deployment and use of new technologies such as the IoT, 5G, and blockchain, the number of network access devices has increased rapidly, and access modes and categories of access devices have begun to diversify. The traditional network management software observes network in a relatively simple manner and rough granularity, so that it is difficult to accurately locate network failures, which is extremely dependent on the personal ability of the manager. Moreover, such valuable experience and ability is difficult to be effectively solidified and passed down. IMC³ enhances NPMD through data flow monitoring and introduces Telemetry. The new and old monitoring methods work together to fine-tune the network observation granularity to the packet level and the chip level, so that the network can be monitored end-to-end from a business perspective, and hop-by-hop analysis is enabled. The failure handling time is thus greatly reduced.

Changes in the network management software itself

Compared with its predecessor, the iMC³ released this time employs a new container technology that divides its functions into small modules. The modules run independently and cooperate with each other to build a complete network management system. The number of modules can be freely expanded according to the user's demand, eliminating the upper limit of management scale, and enables dark launch and no-downtime upgrade. Most importantly, the assembling factory technology of iMC³ allows for free assembly of different modules, providing differentiated and fine management for clients of different industrial segmentation. At present, in addition to the versions for electric power and carriers, iMC³ will gradually provide exclusive versions for various industries.
