Thailand: H3C Provides Advanced Network for Payment Solution Ltd.

Background

Payment Solution Ltd., a joint-venture of Shin Corporation PLC. and DBS Bank (Singapore) Ltd., was founded in 2005 with registered capital of BHT200million. As a rising financial institution in Thailand, Payment Solution provides cash card as a new choice of payment.

The Challenge

Technology has played a dominant role in determining the efficiency of customer service in the financial sector. As Thailand moves closer to finalizing a free trade agreement that will open the financial sector to competition from overseas, the challenge for Payment Solution's management team is to ensure their IT infrastructure is ready for increasing competitive pressure.

In response to increasing network workloads, Payment Solution wanted to create a wider bandwidth connection between its affiliates companies and the service provider. Key concerns were how to obtain higher reliability, security and performance, while remaining compatible with existing equipment in order to protect previous IT investments.

Technology Solution

H3C implemented a solution for Payment Solution based on its switches product line.

L2 switch dedicates two stacking ports and one expansion slot, which represents the next generation desktop switch. It can be used in the access layer of a Gigabit Ethernet network or in the aggregation layer with high availability as well as scalability.

SecPath 1800F will provide Payment Solution with a line of purpose-built, high-performance security systems. The SecPath 1800F integrates firewall, VPN, DoS and DDos protection, NAT and QoS functionality in a low-profile modular chassis. Built around the industry's popular Network Processor technology, the SecPath 1800F offers excellent scalability and flexibility while providing a high level of security against cracker or hacker attacks on Payment Solution's network.

All H3C products used meet international standards, thus guaranteeing compatibility with current equipment and ensuring interoperability with other vendor's products, providing they are also compliant with international standards.

The Benefits

Payment Solution has successfully created full network interconnection among its branch offices and service provider allowing for future scalability and expansion.
